Who we are
This website is operated by Fox Software Solutions, a sole-trader business based in Australia. You can reach us at brett@foxsoftwaresolutions.com.au.
What we collect
This site is intentionally lightweight. We collect only what is necessary to run the site and respond to enquiries:
- Basic visit logs — page URL, timestamp, user agent, and referrer. Stored in a local JSON file on our server. Used only for understanding what is being read. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party tracking scripts.
- Contact form submissions — if you use the form on our Services page, we store the name, email address, description, and the IP address the form was submitted from. This is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
- Server access logs — standard Nginx request logs (IP address, request path, status code). Retained for a short period for security and debugging.
Cookies
We use one small piece of browser storage (localStorage) to remember your preferred dark/light theme. That's it. We do not set tracking cookies.
Third parties
We load a few static assets from public CDNs — Google Fonts, Font Awesome (cdnjs), and htmx (unpkg). These providers may receive your IP address as part of serving those files. We do not send them any additional information.
How we use your information
- To respond to enquiries you send us.
- To understand which pages are being read, so we can write more of what is useful.
- To protect the site from abuse (rate limiting, logs).
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep it
Individual visit records are pruned after 90 days; only aggregate monthly counts are kept longer. Contact form submissions are kept for as long as necessary to continue our correspondence with you.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email brett@foxsoftwaresolutions.com.au and we will action the request promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
